MAPS AND PROFILE, DONE RIGHT

The Google Business Profile most cafés ignore.

Before someone ever opens your website, they see your Google Business Profile: hours, photos, categories, reviews, and the pin on the map. For a lot of independent cafes, that profile was set up years ago and never touched again. Categories drift, hours go stale after a schedule change, and the pin sits a block off from the real front door. In market after market, that Maps listing is quietly doing the job the website was supposed to do.

Across the specialty shops we've looked at nationwide, most score in the mid teens out of forty, and roughly four in five have little to no ongoing content behind them. On a typical "best coffee shops in [city]" search, the Maps pack is often where real independents actually show up, while the organic results are owned by listicles, Reddit threads, and tourism pages. Your Google Business Profile is one of the few channels a cafe actually owns, unlike a best of list or a tourism board page someone else controls. We audit it, fix what's wrong, and set it up to be managed on purpose instead of by accident.

Common problems. Categories that drifted, so Google files the cafe under the wrong kind of business. Hours that went stale after a schedule change. A pin that sits a block from the real front door. Few or old photos, unanswered reviews, and a name, address or phone number that differs from the website.

What we do. We audit the profile field by field and list what is wrong and what to fix first. We correct categories, hours, attributes and the map pin, match the name, address, phone number and hours to your website exactly, and set up a simple routine for photos, posts, questions and review replies.

Questions we hear. Do I need to own the profile? You need owner or manager access, and we walk you through granting it. Do you write my reviews? No. Reviews come from real customers, and we help you respond and keep the profile accurate. How long does an update take? Many edits appear quickly, but Google sometimes reviews changes before they show.

Google Maps

We treat Maps as part of the website, not separate.

Your Maps listing and your website should agree with each other: same hours, same categories, same name. When they don't, Google gets confused about what your café actually is, and confused search results are search results you don't win.
