Spokane Coffee Is Saranac, Hamilton, Garland, and 57th, Not One Seattle Homepage

Hatch Beaker + Burr sits at 19 W Main Ave Suite 3, inside Saranac Commons in downtown Spokane, and that suite number is a good place to start an honest map of this city's coffee. Spokane had 229,228 residents in the Census Bureau's 2023 American Community Survey five year estimate. Its coffee does not live in one district. It lives on named streets: Main Avenue, 1st Avenue, Riverside, Broadway, Hamilton, Monroe, Summit Parkway, Garland, Cleveland and 57th.
This is a Spokane map, not a Seattle one and not a Coeur d'Alene one. Seattle is a coastal metro with its own long coffee story. Coeur d'Alene is a lake town across the Idaho line with its own downtown and its own cafes. Neither belongs on this page. What follows walks the city in the order a visitor would actually move through it: downtown first, then north across the river to Gonzaga and Logan, up North Monroe, west to Broadway and Kendall Yards, north again to Garland, and finally up the hill to 57th Avenue.
Downtown: Main Avenue, 1st Avenue and Riverside
Downtown Spokane holds more specialty coffee than any other part of the city, and it splits across at least three streets. Hatch Beaker + Burr is on Main Avenue at 19 W Main Ave Suite 3, in Saranac Commons, and it was named Best Independent Coffee Shop in Inlander's Best Of 2026. Its posted hours are daily from 7am to 4pm.
A few blocks south and west, First Avenue Coffee is at 1011 W 1st Ave Suite A, in the Sprague and 1st Avenue part of downtown near Riverfront Park. Inlander's Best Of 2026 listed it among the top picks in the same independent coffee category. Riverside Avenue holds Indaba Coffee's downtown room at 518 W Riverside Ave, which opened in fall 2018.
Three cafes, three streets, all walkable from one another, and still three different answers to the question of where to get coffee downtown. A worker on Riverside, a shopper on Main and someone headed toward Riverfront Park will each end up at a different counter. That is the first lesson of the Spokane map: even downtown is several searches, not one.
Gonzaga, Logan and Hamilton Street
Cross the river to the north and east and the map moves into the Logan neighborhood around Gonzaga University. Arctos Coffee's first room is here at 1923 N Hamilton St, on the main north and south street through the university district. Arctos posts hours of 6:30am to 5pm on weekdays and 7am to 5pm on weekends.
Hamilton is a student street as much as a neighborhood street, and the coffee that sits on it serves both. A parent visiting campus, a student between classes and a Logan resident walking the dog are all searching the same few blocks, and they will type Gonzaga, Logan or Hamilton rather than downtown.
Just east of the Hamilton corridor, Roast House Coffee is at 423 E Cleveland Ave Suite C, in the Cleveland and Logan pocket of the north side. It has been in Spokane coffee since 2010. Cleveland Avenue runs east and west through this part of town, a separate line on the map from Hamilton even though the two sit close together.
North Monroe: One Street, Several Rooms
North Monroe Street carries an unusual amount of coffee for a single corridor. Cedar Coffee is at 701 N Monroe St, near the south end of the stretch, and says its Spokane location opened in 2017. It keeps hours of 7:30am to 4pm on weekdays and 8:30am to 4pm on weekends.
Farther north, Indaba Coffee's Monroe location is at 2020 N Monroe St Suite A. It opened in summer 2024, which makes it the newest of Indaba's Spokane locations. Arctos Coffee's second location is at 2823 N Monroe St, and Inlander covered that North Monroe opening in July 2026.
Three names on one street is a real pattern. Someone on North Monroe is not searching for downtown or for Gonzaga. They are searching for the block they are on, and in this corridor there are several good answers within a short walk of each other.
West Central, Broadway and Kendall Yards
West of downtown, across the river, Broadway and Summit Parkway form their own coffee pocket. Indaba Coffee's original room is at 1425 W Broadway Ave in West Central, in the Walnut Corners building, and it has been there since November 2009. It posts daily hours of 7am to 5pm.
Kendall Yards sits along Summit Parkway on the north bank of the river. Indaba has a room there too, at 1315 W Summit Pkwy, opened over the winter of 2017 into 2018. New Love Coffee's Kendall Yards room is on the same parkway at 1102 W Summit Pkwy Suite 102, established April 13, 2023, with weekday hours of 6am to 6pm and weekend hours of 7am to 5pm.
New Love also has a room at 1212 W Francis Ave on the north side, with weekday hours of 7am to 4pm and weekend hours of 8am to 3pm. Its third room is in Liberty Lake, a separate city east of Spokane, which is why it stays off a Spokane map even though the name is familiar here.
Garland
Garland Avenue, north of the river, is its own small district with its own name and its own storefronts. Pitotti Coffee Roasters is at 733 W Garland Ave. Its posted hours are Tuesday through Friday from 7am to 3pm and Saturday from 8am to 2pm, and it is closed Sunday and Monday.
Those hours matter for planning. Two closed days a week and a Saturday that ends at 2pm are exactly the details a visitor needs before walking over, and they are the kind of details worth printing next to an address rather than leaving to guesswork.
Garland is also a good example of why a neighborhood name carries weight in Spokane. People who live near Garland say Garland. A search for coffee in the Garland District is a narrower and more local question than a search for coffee in Spokane, and the answer is one specific address.
South Hill and 57th Avenue
The last stop on this map is the farthest from downtown. South Hill rises south of the city center, and near its south end, by the Manito area, Revel 77 Coffee is at 3223 E 57th Ave Suite K. That address is well away from the downtown grid and from every corridor north of the river.
A visitor working from a single downtown list would never think to look this far south, and a South Hill resident would never think to drive downtown for a morning cup when 57th Avenue is right there. That gap between how the city is summarized and how it is actually lived is the whole reason a neighborhood map is useful.
Put South Hill next to Garland, Kendall Yards, North Monroe, Logan and downtown and the pattern is plain. Spokane coffee is at least eight neighborhood stories, each with its own street names and its own reasons to visit.
Planning a Coffee Day by the Posted Hours
Spokane's independent cafes keep morning hours, and the posted schedules make a real difference to how a day across the city can be planned. Of the posted schedules on this page, the earliest weekday start is New Love Coffee's Kendall Yards location at 6am, followed by Arctos Coffee at 6:30am on weekdays at both of its addresses.
Most of the rest open by 7am or 7:30am. Hatch Beaker + Burr and Indaba's Broadway location both list 7am openings every day, and Cedar Coffee starts at 7:30am on weekdays. Weekends shift later at several shops: Cedar opens at 8:30am, New Love's Francis Avenue location at 8am, and Arctos at 7am.
The afternoon is where schedules really split. Pitotti closes at 3pm on weekdays and 2pm on Saturday. Cedar and Hatch close at 4pm. Indaba Broadway and Arctos run to 5pm, and New Love's Kendall Yards room stays open until 6pm on weekdays, the latest close among these posted schedules. Anyone chasing a late afternoon cup should head toward Summit Parkway rather than Garland.
Inlander's Best Of 2026 list is a useful guide for a first day downtown. It named Hatch Beaker + Burr on Main Avenue the city's best independent coffee shop, listed Atticus Coffee & Gifts at 222 N Howard St and First Avenue Coffee on 1st Avenue among the top picks. All three honorees sit within a short walk of one another in the downtown core.
Where the Chains Fit
Dutch Bros lists nine drive thru locations in Spokane itself, from 410 W 2nd Ave downtown to 11921 N Division St on the far north end, with four more in Spokane Valley, which is a separate city. Those drive thrus serve a different kind of stop than a sit down room on Main Avenue or Summit Parkway.
National chains are part of the city, but the neighborhood coffee map is built out of independents. The cafes named on this page, from Saranac Commons to 57th Avenue, are where the neighborhood names attach to a coffee counter, and that is what a local reader or a visitor is usually looking for when they add a street or district to a search.
Why Spokane Is Not Seattle and Not Coeur d'Alene
It is tempting to describe Spokane as a smaller version of the Seattle coffee story. It is not. Seattle is a separate coastal city of 741,440 residents in the same Census survey, with a coffee culture shaped by its own history and its own neighborhoods. Spokane's scene grew on its own streets, around its own university and its own river, and it deserves to be described on its own terms.
Coeur d'Alene is much closer, just east across the Idaho line, and it is still a different place. Its lake, its downtown and its cafes belong to a separate story. Spokane Valley, with 105,460 residents, and Liberty Lake, with 12,435, are separate cities too, and their numbers are never added into Spokane's 229,228.
Keeping those lines clear is not pedantry. It is what makes a map useful. A reader asking where to get coffee in Spokane should get Spokane streets, and a reader asking about Hamilton or Garland should get Hamilton or Garland.
What This Map Means for a Spokane Coffee Owner
For an owner, the takeaway is simple. Your neighborhood is part of your address, and it is part of how people look for you. A cafe on North Monroe answers a North Monroe search. A cafe in Kendall Yards answers a Kendall Yards search. A shop with locations in two neighborhoods is really answering two different questions.
The strongest local coffee pages in any city tend to print the full street address with its suite number, the hours for that room, the neighborhood name the way residents say it, and a short plain story about the block. None of that requires a large budget. It requires treating the address as the center of the page rather than an afterthought in the footer.
Spokane already has the raw material for that kind of map: award winners downtown, a long running room on Broadway since 2009, a newer room on North Monroe since 2024, and a neighborhood spot on 57th Avenue. The streets are the story, and they are worth telling one at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Hatch Beaker + Burr in Spokane?
Hatch Beaker + Burr is at 19 W Main Ave Suite 3, inside Saranac Commons in downtown Spokane. The suite number is worth noting because Saranac Commons holds more than one business. Hatch was named Best Independent Coffee Shop in Inlander's Best Of 2026, and its posted hours are daily from 7am to 4pm, so a morning or early afternoon visit fits its schedule best.
Where is First Avenue Coffee?
First Avenue Coffee is at 1011 W 1st Ave Suite A, in the Sprague and 1st Avenue part of downtown Spokane near Riverfront Park. It is a separate downtown street from Main Avenue and Saranac Commons, a few blocks away. Inlander's Best Of 2026 listed First Avenue Coffee among the top picks in its independent coffee shop category, which the downtown room on Main Avenue won.
Where are Arctos Coffee's two Spokane locations?
Arctos Coffee has two locations on two different corridors. The first is at 1923 N Hamilton St in the Logan neighborhood near Gonzaga University. The second is at 2823 N Monroe St on the North Monroe corridor, an opening Inlander covered in July 2026. Arctos posts hours of 6:30am to 5pm on weekdays and 7am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Where is Cedar Coffee and when did it open?
Cedar Coffee is at 701 N Monroe St, near the south end of the North Monroe corridor. The shop says its Spokane location opened in 2017, which gives it close to a decade on the street. Its posted hours are 7:30am to 4pm Monday through Friday and 8:30am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, so it closes midafternoon every day of the week.
Where are Indaba Coffee's Spokane locations?
Indaba Coffee has four Spokane locations. The original is at 1425 W Broadway Ave in West Central, open since November 2009. The Kendall Yards location at 1315 W Summit Pkwy opened over the winter of 2017 into 2018, the downtown location at 518 W Riverside Ave opened in fall 2018, and the North Monroe location at 2020 N Monroe St Suite A opened in summer 2024.
Where is New Love Coffee in Spokane?
New Love Coffee has two locations inside Spokane. The Kendall Yards location is at 1102 W Summit Pkwy Suite 102, established April 13, 2023, with weekday hours of 6am to 6pm. Where are Roast House Coffee and Revel 77 Coffee?
Roast House Coffee is at 423 E Cleveland Ave Suite C, in the Cleveland and Logan area of north Spokane, and has been part of the city's coffee scene since 2010. Revel 77 Coffee is at the opposite end of town, at 3223 E 57th Ave Suite K on South Hill near the Manito area, the farthest south of any room on this map.
How many Dutch Bros locations are in Spokane?
Dutch Bros lists nine locations in Spokane itself, including 410 W 2nd Ave downtown and 11921 N Division St on the far north end. It lists four more in Spokane Valley, a separate city of 105,460 residents, and those are never added into the Spokane count. Statewide, Dutch Bros lists 74 Washington locations on its own locator page.
Is Spokane coffee part of the Seattle or Coeur d'Alene scene?
No. Spokane is a separate city of 229,228 residents, on the far side of the state from Seattle, with its own streets, university and river. Coeur d'Alene is a lake town across the Idaho line with its own downtown and cafes. Spokane coffee is best understood through its own neighborhoods: Saranac Commons, 1st Avenue, Hamilton, North Monroe, Kendall Yards, Garland and 57th Avenue.
